Three 49ers returned to practice. That's the whole story.

Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and Mike Evans all returned to 49ers practice this week, and the coverage is exactly as thin as that sentence suggests. Two outlets, two brief items, no meaningful divergence. The Saquon Barkley note from PFT isn't even about the 49ers. There is no framing gap here worth excavating.

What happened

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant, joining wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Mike Evans in returning to work this week. McCaffrey had been sidelined with injury. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley also returned to limited practice Thursday after missing Wednesday with hamstring and back issues, though that item is unrelated to the 49ers story. No game-status designations have been reported for any of the players. Two outlets covered the 49ers returns: PFT with a brief item on McCaffrey and the New York Post with a roundup of all three players. That is the wire version. Two outlets have it, and there is nothing separating the coverage worth analyzing.
